In April 1999 Boris Johnson devoted his weekly interview column to Marko Gasic who had made a considerable name for himself as a media spokesman for the Serbian perspective on the Balkan wars. Mr Johnson was clearly impressed by many of the arguments put to him by Mr Gasic. The sting in the tail – his scepticism that most of the Albanian expulsions were ordered by the leadership of the Kosovo Liberation Army rather than Mr Milosevic – only serves to show how unthinkable it was that the orthodox version could be wrong. We now know for a fact know that it was.
