George Szamuely<\/b> (born 1954) is a senior research fellow at the Global Policy Institute.\u00a0He was a frequent columnist for the Taki’s Top Drawer<\/a> pages of the New York Press<\/a><\/i>. Szamuely has also written for Antiwar.com<\/a>, Counterpunch<\/a><\/i>, Commentary<\/a><\/i>, The Observer<\/a><\/i> and the Centre for Research on Globalization<\/a>. He is a frequent contributor to the RT<\/a> show CrossTalk<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He was born in Hungary to Tibor Szamuely<\/a> (1925\u20131972), of a Hungarian Jewish merchant family, and Nina (n\u00e9e Orlova; 1923-1974), of Russian parentage. His great-uncle was the Communist revolutionary Tibor Szamuely<\/a> (1890\u20131919). He was educated in England at University College London<\/a> and at the London School of Economics<\/a>. He received a PhD from London Metropolitan University<\/a><\/p>\n

He worked for some years as an editor at the Times Literary Supplement<\/a><\/i> and at The National Law Journal<\/a><\/i>. He was also a weekly columnist at the New York Press<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n
